Know what should happen before the first box leaves.
Move day should feel organized: arrival, walkthrough, protection, paperwork, loading, delivery, placement, and final checks. Here is what customers should expect and prepare for.
At Pickup
The crew confirms the plan before loading.
Good movers do not just start carrying. They review the home, access, fragile items, paperwork, and any last-minute changes.
Point out fragile boxes, large items, items staying behind, and anything that needs disassembly.
Furniture is wrapped or padded, and the crew plans how to protect doors, tight corners, elevators, and floors.
Review the estimate, services, valuation/protection choices, inventory where applicable, and payment expectations.
Boxes and furniture are loaded in a sequence that protects fragile items and supports efficient unloading.
At Delivery
Room placement matters.
Customers should not have to drag everything again after the crew leaves. Give clear room labels and placement direction while unloading is happening.
- Meet the crew at delivery or assign one decision-maker who can direct placement.
- Use room labels that match box labels: Primary Bedroom, Kitchen, Office, Garage, Storage.
- Check major furniture and visible fragile items before the crew leaves.
- Do a final walkthrough of the truck and destination space before closing paperwork.
